We chose the common room as a location possibility as this would be a good place to shoot a tense scene. This is because it is a social area and will show that there can be conflict in a friendly place. This would also be a good location possibility because it is a big area with seating so that the two characters can sit and have a confrontation. However, once again this is a busy place and it is hard to find a time when there isn't alot of people hanging around, this would make it difficult to film because there would be again unwanted background noise. This can then turn into an advantage if the idea was to film in a busy places because its will sound realistic.
The First Shot would be a close up of the characters hand opening the door as she is about to go into the common room. If we shot it at a high angle with a point of view shot, this would mean that the character is looking down at their hand. This could mean that she is scared/worried that something is about to happen (the confrontation). If it was to be shot at eye level this could again be inerpreted that something is about to happen and give the audience some suspence for a few seconds.
The second shot will be revealing who is on the other side of the door. This will intrigue the audience because it will show them what the character looks like. We want to create a tense atmosphere as the subject walks through the door, we discussed if the subject where to run through the door across the room but we decided running wouldn't create the tense impression we want. We decided to maintain a low lighting throughout the extract to create a mysterious atmosphere.
In the picture above you can see May is sitting down in a chair, how we should film her as she walks across the room and gets to where she is sitting down is the question. the camera could do a tracking shot of the character or we could pan the character walking across the room. We could also do a point of view shot which means that the camera is the second character watching them walking towards them. (Even thought this picture shows happiness) the atmosphere we wish to create is tension and confilct.

Location 2 - Reception Area
Location 2 was shot in the reception area of the college. This is a good place to shoot because the characters and sit more face to face opposite each other. However this is a busy place and there are always people around there and there will be unwanted background noise most of the time. This would make it hard to film at this location.
The First shot will be a close up of the hand opening the door, this should make the audience wonder what is going to happen next.
The second shot is a match on action to the previous shot which means that the person that is opening the door is shown in full view this would be a point of view shot, this is because there is not enough room to track this character. this would be an advantage because it might make the audience wonder who's watching this character and why.
The third shot would then continue with a confrontation showing close ups of the characters faces this will display that there is confilct which would be portrayed by the two characters with point of view shots.

Location 1 - First Floor Quiet Reading Area
We have chosen this location beacause there is a lot of space and a it is a quiet area this is because it is not used as often as the other locations. This is good because it shows secrecy as there is no one around and the objective of our film is to show the audience that there is conflict between the two characters.
The first shot shows a shot of a door being opened, this would be a close up and eye level.
The second shot shows someone walking through a door, this would be a mach of action connecting with the hand opening the door.
The third shot shows someone walking through a corridor. This would be taken as a median long shot and this character would be tracked then a pan would be used as there is not enough room to track the entire distance and would create a better effect.
The fourth shot shows someone sitting down, this would be Taken as a long shot, then there would be a cut then a close up of the faces of each character. then we would continue with the conflict between the other characters.

idea 1 - locations
our location will be in the seating and quiet reading area on the first floor, we thought this would be an ideal place because its quite and usually fairly empty.
it also gives the impression of desolation and remoteness and this is exactly the feel we want to have in this short video because we want the audience eager to know what the situation is and what is going to happen next.
